Victory Of Sporting KC

The Sporting Kansas City played extensively to defeat New York City with a win of 3-1 on 10th July at Children’s Mercy Park.

It was indeed a busy opening to the game as the scoring was opened by Benny Feilhaber within 8 minutes of its start. Thereafter, Frank Lampard lost his goal 6 minutes later. It was indeed the 3rd goal in 3 games for the former England and Chelsea midfielder. However, the scores that were at the same level lasted only for a short while as Sporting Kansas hit back within a few minutes later.

Feilhaber has been playing for Sporting KC as a midfielder and he has always performed brilliantly in majority of the matches as a midfielder. His contribution towards the match led to the victory and he earned the Team of the Week honors on Monday. In addition, there was another standout performer of the match who successful scored his first goal. Jimmy Medranda, the midfielder was the first one to restore his 1st goal in MLS as he rifled from a distance with other hosts. Ike Opara had to wrap up his scoring due to Frederic Brilliant. The other game that was held on the same day was indeed yet another interesting match. The Portland Timbers and the New York Red Bulls played out a draw that was goalless at Red Bull Arena.

Sporting KC struggled nearly for 2 months in April and May and has now returned after a break. The club has achieved 3 victories in their last 4 league matches which include a pair of 3 goal wins over last 10 days. The team is said to travel to Colorado to attend a western conference tilt with the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. With such great contributors from Sporting KC, there is no denying that the team has played brilliantly to achieve the Major League Score.
