LA Galaxy player announced retirement

LA Galaxy forward Herculez Gomez has announced his retirement from football after spending more than 15 years in professional football.


 

He was a member of the LA Galaxy team during the period 2002-2006 where he will make an instant impact. Although he was signed on a developmental contract by the LA Galaxy team, he will find himself quickly in the first team due to his good performance.

 

He would take advantage of the fact that Landon Donovan was called to the national team and he will establish himself as a major striker in the LA Galaxy team.

 

Herculez Gomez will go on and have a great period with the LA Galaxy team where he will manage to win the 2002 and 2005 MLS Cup.

He then left the club in 2006 where he will sign for Colorado Rapids. He will make a great start at his new club and managed to score many goals for his new side. Unfortunately, he will be injured during training and will spend a lot of time on the bench.

 

Afterward he will leave Colorado Rapids and signed for     Kansas City Wizards where he will spend two years. He will fail to establish himself in the team and will then sign for some Mexican clubs before making his return to MLS in 2015 when he signed for Toronto. At the beginning of last season, he joined Seattle Sounders where he will help the team win another MLS Cup.

 

He said that he is proud of his career and that he will be cherishing the memories for his lifetime. Herculez Gomez will be joining ESPN as an analyst and said that at the moment he cannot imagine life without football. He wants to thanks all the fans for the support during all these years.
