The San Jose earthquakes manager Frank Yallop has said that he is not happy with his team conceding a set piece goal in the recent match against Columbus Crew. Columbus Crew managed to take the lead in the match through a corner in the 68th minute. Even though San Jose managed to get back into the match through a 74th minute equaliser from Morrow, it was not enough for the team to record the second victory of the season. As a result, San Jose earthquakes have to be content with just one victory in the first three matches of the season.

As a result, they have to make up five points to the leaders Montreal Impact even at this early stage of the season. Yallop has said that his team are usually strong at set pieces, and he could not explain why they conceded a goal against Columbus in such a poor fashion. However, he praised the character of his team, as they were able to come back into the match in the next few minutes. The only victory for San Jose this season has been the 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls in the second match of the season. They have lost and drawn the other two matches.

“We proud ourselves on not allowing goals on set plays. We don’t usually do that,” said the San Jose earthquakes manager Frank Yallop. “We played very well tonight. Out of both of the teams, we had the better chances, “said the San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch. Columbus and San Jose earthquakes almost have an identical record after the first three matches of the MLS season. In the next five matches of the season, San Jose will be taking on the likes of Vancouver whitecaps, Houston Dynamo, and Portland Timbers in the league.
